Terms of Service

The agreement between you and FinOpsAid.

Plain-language terms covering what the service does, how billing works, and what each of us is responsible for.

Last updated: September 2, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of finopsaid.com, the FinOpsAid GitHub App, and the FinOpsAid console (together, the “Service”), operated by Dheerva Technologies (“FinOpsAid,” “we,” “us”). By installing the GitHub App, connecting an organization, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, if applicable, the organization you represent.

1. The Service

FinOpsAid is a read-only FinOps analytics console for GitHub. It ingests usage and billing metadata your organization's owner authorizes (Copilot, GitHub Actions, Codespaces, storage, repositories, teams and permissions) into a versioned warehouse and serves cost, usage and governance views derived from it. The Service never writes back to GitHub — no seat, permission, or repository changes are ever made on your behalf.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must have the authority to install the FinOpsAid GitHub App on the organization or enterprise you connect. An organization's first login is its owner and controls billing, settings, and which pages any additional logins the owner creates may open.

3. GitHub App permissions

The App requests read-only scopes only. You (or your organization's GitHub admin) can review the exact permissions granted and revoke them at any time from your organization's GitHub App settings — doing so immediately stops all future syncing.

4. Subscription, billing, and cancellation

  • Installing is free. Connecting your org and using the Service costs nothing until your 14-day trial is armed, which happens on your first login after your first successful data sync — an org that connects and never logs in doesn't burn its trial.
  • Monthly plans auto-renew via recurring payment through Razorpay, our payment processor, and can be cancelled at any time; cancellation stops future billing and you keep access through the cycle you've already paid for.
  • Annual plans are charged as a single one-time payment through a Razorpay payment link, not a recurring mandate.
  • Prices are listed exclusive of tax. GST is added for Indian customers based on the GSTIN entered at checkout.
  • If payment lapses, syncing pauses and your existing data is frozen — not deleted. A successful payment resumes syncing and backfills the gap wherever GitHub's own APIs still expose the missed history.
  • Payments already made are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

5. Modeled and estimated figures

Some figures the Service shows — for example per-repository Copilot cost or self-hosted runner cost — are modeled estimates derived from usage signals GitHub provides, not amounts GitHub has billed you. These are clearly labeled as estimates in the product. We do not guarantee their precision, and they should be treated as directional, not as a substitute for your GitHub invoice.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to a third party without our prior written agreement;
  • attempt to access another organization's data, or circumvent the Service's access controls;
  • use the Service in a way that violates GitHub's own Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policies.

7. Intellectual property

FinOpsAid and its licensors retain all rights in the Service itself. You and your organization retain all rights in your own GitHub data; we process it solely to provide the Service to you.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The Service depends on GitHub's own APIs, which are outside our control and subject to their own availability, accuracy, and rate limits.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FinOpsAid will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Term and termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. On termination, syncing stops and access ends; your existing data remains associated with your account in frozen form unless you request deletion — see our Privacy Policy for how to do that.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of India.

12. Changes to these Terms

We'll update the “Last updated” date above when these Terms change, and continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the update.
